Leaf Peeping Trip, Day 9

Today we drive from Woodstock back to Boston.

We've decided we're going to ship some items home, and lighten our load for the trip home. I say we, but I specifically mean me - that backpack got so heavy on our travel day out, I'm looking for a way not to repeat it.

I set the destination for a UPS store in Andover, Massachusetts - the same lovely town that we stayed in when we landed in Boston. Our final strategy: get a box that fits my large backpack inside, load it up with anything we won't need for our final days in Boston, and ship it home. This includes extra shoes and clothing, as well as the drone that I never took out of my bag this whole trip. And of course, Vermont maple syrup! We execute this plan easily but it's much more expensive than I anticipated.

Given it's a rainy day, lunch at the The Autograph Tavern hits the spot, with a comforting cup of soup, followed by some caffeine from Caffe Nero. Then onward to return the rental vehicle before checking into our Boston hotel.

Lola 42

We have dinner reservations at Lola 42. The restaurant seats us in the sushi bar area, and it's too dark for my eyes - I think the darkest restaurant setting I've ever been in.

We opt for a light meal.

BABY KALE SALAD
avocado, green apple, red grape, celery, spiced pepitas, breakfast radish, medjool date vinaigrette
HOISIN BABY BACK RIBS
sriracha hoisin, scallion, sesame seed, fresno chili, micro cilantro

The restaurant is located on the waterfront - It's a beautiful location on a rainy night. Here's a view from nearby.
